Emmi Documentation

Welcome to Emmi – We provide comprehensive climate analysis for investors.

Emmi can be accessed via Direct API for real-time analysis with full parameter control, or via SFTP for scheduled batch processing with simplified workflows. See Integration Patterns to choose the right approach for your needs.

Capabilities

Emmi provides emission modelling, climate risk, temperature alignment, and physical hazard analysis across multiple asset types.

Supported Asset Types

Asset Type Description
Equity Public and private companies
Debt Corporate and government bonds
Infrastructure Long-lived assets with operational cash flows
Property Commercial real estate

Each asset type has specific data requirements for entity classification and financials. See the API Developer Docs for full field-level details.

Analysis Capabilities

Baseline Emissions

Estimate Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions based on financial data and optionally reported historical emissions.

  • Emissions data is optional — missing scopes are estimated from financials
  • Provide 2–3 years of historical data to improve accuracy
  • When reported emissions are provided, they anchor estimates for other years

Climate Risk

Assess transition and physical climate risk under climate scenarios (IPCC, IPCC AR6, NGFS, IPR).

  • Transition risk — enterprise value at risk from constraints on carbon emissions (carbon-pricing stress testing)
  • Physical risk — enterprise value at risk from chronic and acute climate impacts (scientifically-derived industry + country risk factors)
  • Results stated in financial terms as Value-at-Risk (VaR) decimals (0.25 = 25% risk)
  • Each year of input data represents a separate point-in-time analysis — unlike emissions-estimates, multiple years do not improve accuracy, they return independent risk results for each year
  • The analysis_years field projects risk to future years (between the data year and 2050). The data year itself is always included automatically.

Temperature Alignment

Calculate the implied temperature alignment of assets based on emissions intensity relative to global climate goals (1.5 °C, 2 °C).

  • The analysis_years field projects temperature alignment to future years based on current emissions intensity. The data year is always included automatically.
  • When analysis_years is omitted, only the data years themselves are analyzed
  • For projected emissions pathways, use the temperature-alignment-projections endpoint instead

Emissions Projections (Coming Soon)

Project future emissions trajectories for equity assets.

  • Monte Carlo — probabilistic forecasting from 3+ years of historical emissions
  • Linear Glide Path — target-based reduction pathways with defined scope targets
  • Both methods can be requested simultaneously for comparison

Climate Risk Projections (Coming Soon)

Forecast future climate risks by combining baseline financial data with projected future emissions under IPCC and NGFS scenarios. Equity assets only.

Temperature Alignment Projections (Coming Soon)

Project how future emissions pathways align with temperature goals. Equity assets only.

Company Ranking (Coming Soon)

Benchmark a company's carbon performance within its industry and sector. Calculates percentile rankings for emissions intensity (Scope 1, Scope 1+2, Scope 1+2+3).

Climate Hazards (Coming Soon)

Location-based acute climate hazard risk assessment by latitude/longitude.

  • Cyclones — wind speed, intensity, probability
  • Wildfire — fire danger days, intensity, probability
  • Coastal Floods — flood depth, intensity, probability
  • Riverine Floods — flood depth, intensity, probability

Supports multiple RCP warming scenarios.

Multi-Year Data & Batch Processing

  • Multi-year data: Provide multiple years of historical data. For emissions estimation this improves accuracy; for climate risk each year is analyzed independently.
  • Batch processing: All endpoints accept arrays of entities. Submit an entire portfolio in a single request.

Full Technical Details

For complete endpoint documentation, request/response schemas, field requirements, and scenario tables, see the API Developer Docs.
